The race that stops a nation
We are the great "race" nation. Forget about the Sydney to Hobart, Melbourne Cup or Bathurst, Australia has a new race to stop the nation - The Great Betfair Pink Pigeon Race in support of the McGrath Foundation.
To be conducted on Jane McGrath Day, (Monday January 5 - Day 3 of the Sydney Test), twelve of Australia's top racing pigeons will set off from Glenn McGrath Oval in Narromine and race to the North West NSW town of Trangie (approx 30km).
And you guessed it Betfair punters will be able to bet on the great race, with proceeds going to Cricket Australia's Cricket Cares partner, the McGrath Foundation.
